What difference did the shape of the base of the beaker/flask make to heating the water?

The shape of the base of a beaker or flask is usually circular. The only difference is the area of the base. In general, the larger the area of the base, the greater amount of heat can enter the beaker or flask per unit of time, so the temperature goes up faster than when the base is smaller.
